Dear Community Member,

I am pleased to share that the annual SEVA Charity Golf Classic is coming back to Country Hills Golf Club on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. 

The principles of kindness, compassion, unity and generosity are at the foundation of the meaning of SEVA – the act of selfless service. Formerly known as the Sikh Business & Professional Club, the event has raised more than to $700,000 in the past 13 years for the children and families who rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Over the years, these funds have supported state-of-the-art equipment and innovative programs at the Vision Clinic, as well as leading-edge technology for the Pediatric Critical Care Transport and Neurology teams. This year, the tournament will continue to support Vision Care and more specifically the Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) program.

When babies are born preterm, they often face significant health challenges. One of the risks is ROP, a serious eye disorder which can cause blindness. With early diagnosis and intervention, a baby’s sight can be saved, and their life trajectory forever changed. Your generous support will make it possible to develop and implement a comprehensive ROP program in central and southern Alberta. With electronic tracking, state-of-the-art digital imaging and a telehealth model, the program will support vulnerable little ones and their families with high-quality care closer to home.
